Our approach

Issues related to competition law that arise in the course of business can be complex and detailed and require not only knowledge of laws and regulations but also a deep understanding of the economic and business environment in which the client operates. As such, we take the time to thoroughly familiarise ourselves with the specifics of our clients' business and the relevant commodity markets when offering advice. We provide practical guidance to help clients conduct their business in line with competition law rules. Additionally, we collaborate with KPMG's financial advisors when carrying out market analysis or, preparing cost or price analysis.

We offer advice on both domestic issues and international projects, involving advisors from other countries in the KPMG network as needed for cross-border projects and act as a central project manager and contact person for our clients.

What makes the team unique is that they have recruited people with previous regulatory and supervisory experience, which gives them unique angle to approach and if needed communicate with the regulator.

The Legal 500

Our experience and services

Our team specializes in helping clients identify competition law risks associated with their business activities. We offer solutions to prevent and mitigate these risks, particularly in relation to contracts and business practices used in the course of business and dominant positions on the market. In the context of mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring, we analyse the need for a notification of concentration, assist with drafting notifications when necessary, and provide advice on the proceedings with the Competition Authority.

Our team includes members who have previously worked at the Competition Authority, giving them valuable insights and a supervisory perspective on our clients' competition law issues.

We advise customers on the following matters:

  • analysing and drafting cooperation, supply, marketing and other contracts in order to avoid prohibited agreements;
  • advising companies with dominant market positions on their economic activities;
  • analysing the need for permission authorising concentration and preparation of the notification of concentration;
  • representation in communication with the Competition Authority;
  • conducting a competition law audit in the company;
  • providing in-house training on competition law to clients;
  • applying for state aid and proceedings related to the use of state aid.
