KPMG Law Estonia advised the shareholders of Smartecon in connection with their exit from Smartecon and investment in Verston.
Our work included drafting and negotiating the relevant transaction documents and supporting the shareholders throughout the transaction process.Founded in 2012, Smartecon specialises in the design, construction and maintenance of energy generation and storage solutions. The company has built more than 1,000 solar power plants across five countries. Smartecon provides comprehensive solutions from concept to completion, including feasibility and profitability analyses, design, construction, grid connections, testing, monitoring and maintenance. The company currently employs 32 people and generated revenue of nearly EUR 35 million in 2025.
Verston is an internationally expanding infrastructure group founded in Estonia in 2010, with its headquarters located in Ülemiste City, Tallinn. Verston Group’s revenue increased by 53% to EUR 115 million in 2025, while its net profit amounted to EUR 1.7 million. In recent years, the company has worked with its partners to construct several major renewable energy projects, including Utilitas’ Targale wind farm in Latvia and Saarde wind farm in Pärnu County, Enefit’s Sopi-Tootsi renewable energy production site in Põhja-Pärnu County, and Sunly’s solar park in Risti, Lääne County.Request our assistance
